Few games embody the underdog spirit like Warframe.
Releases in 2012 after a dozen years of tortured development, the free-to-play loot shooter grew its meager following into one of the biggest audiences in modern games. With 50 million registered users, it rivals the like of Destiny 2, The Division 2, and Rainbow Six Siege.
Now, we visited the creators during their annual TennoCon convention, to explore the obstacles they hurdled, and continue to hurdle, in the journey to improve Warframe. We also speak to veteran players of the game. What’s more, we delve into the complicated relationship between developers, and the massive communities who play their games.
You can try out Warframe yourself (for free) on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
