Game Release Dates In December 2019: Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, And PC
By ESR on 23 noiembrie 2019
December is just around the corner, which means 2019 is nearly over. This year has seen some fantastic releases launch on each of the major platforms, and while December is certainly a bit quieter compared to previous months, there are still some great titles on the way to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch before 2020 officially arrives.
Most of December’s releases are concentrated in the beginning of the month. December 3 in particular is busy day, as that is when a bunch of games drop, from the latest episode of Life Is Strange 2 to the debut of Halo Reach as part of the Master Chief Collection. December also sees the long-awaited release of Wattam, the quirky new game from Katamari creator Keita Takahashi.
That’s only a small taste of what’s to come next month. Below, we’ve outlined all of the biggest titles coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch in December 2019. For a look back on all the games that were released this year, be sure to check out our complete list of game release dates in 2019.
Halo Reach has been conspicuously missing from the Master Chief Collection for years, but that will all change on December 3 when the title finally joins the anthology. Not only will Reach be added to the Xbox One version of MCC, it will also be the first MCC game to hit PC–although Microsoft is handling the PC release a little differently. Instead of dropping the entire Master Chief Collection on the platform at once, the publisher is instead releasing each title individually in the order in which they take place, starting with Reach. As for when the other Halo MCC games will arrive on PC, developer 343 Industries has only said they’ll be released “when they’re ready.”
It’s been a long time coming, but the beloved MechWarrior series is finally making a return with the release of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. First unveiled back in 2016, MechWarrior 5 was originally slated to launch in 2018 before suffering several delays, but it is now set to arrive on PC on December 10. Developed by Piranha Games, the studio behind MechWarrior Online, MechWarrior 5 maintains the series’ signature blend of tactical mech combat while offering up a standalone story that veterans and newcomers alike can dive into. The game also features co-op play, allowing you to join with up to three other players to wreak mech-based destruction.
Another game that’s been a long time coming is Wattam, the quirky new project from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi. Originally announced back in 2014, Wattam is finally set to arrive on PS4 and PC via the Epic Games Store on December 17. Like Katamari, Wattam’s gameplay is physics-based, although instead of rolling an ever-increasing ball around, you’ll be guiding a lonely character named Mayor around, interacting with other characters by holding their hands, stacking them up, and engaging in other charmingly bizarre activities.
