The Last Of Us 2 Pre-Orders: Release Date, Ellie Edition, Pre-Order Bonuses, And More

One of the most anticipated games of 2020, The Last of Us Part 2 will finally continue the story of Ellie and Joel. The game was initially slated for February 21, but was later delayed back in October. Assuming it’s not delayed again, you can expect it to release May 29, 2020 on PS4.

The latest story trailer showed protagonist Ellie on a killing spree after a terrible event involving her best friend and romantic interest, Dina–and we got our first look at a much older-looking Joel, who shows up to help her get revenge.

Now Playing: The Last of Us Part 2’s New Additions Make For Tougher And More Brutal Combat

The 2013 game The Last of Us was critically acclaimed and one of the best titles to launch on PS3. It was impeccably crafted, with cinematic style, satisfying game mechanics, and a story that cut right to the bone. So needless to say, it’s exciting to have a release date and even more footage of the game.

In a recent media event, two GameSpot staffers spent a couple of hours playing The Last of Us Part 2–you can check out their impressions and new details learned from the hands-on preview. Plus, catch up on everything we know about The Last of Us Part 2, including its story, setting, combat, and more. One major change: Naughty Dog has confirmed Part 2 will not have multiplayer, focusing instead on the single-player experience. Despite that removed mode, we know that the game will span two Blu-ray discs.

Now that we have a release date, more pre-order information has been revealed about The Last of Us Part 2, including details about its pre-order bonuses and special editions. You can check out all the details on those editions below and lock in your pre-order now. Many of the editions are currently unavailable, but it’s possible they’ll be back in stock before launch.

The Last of Us Part 2 pre-order bonuses

If you pre-order The Last of Us Part 2, you’ll receive two in-game items–an ammo capacity upgrade and crafting training manual–at launch. Pre-order the standard or Digital Deluxe edition on the PlayStation Store, and you’ll also receive a PSN avatar featuring Ellie’s tattoo.
