Sony is continuing to build it’s own little Marvel universe outside of the well-established MCU. This July, Morbius arrives, and an alleged photo of the film’s star Jared Leto as the titular vampiric anti-hero has leaked online.
While the photo of Leto in the Morbius makeup is not confirmed by Sony, its arrival online is interesting as rumors of a trailer coming soon have been circulating. The upcoming film will follow a biochemist who tries to cure a rare blood disease he has but ends up turning himself into a vampire. You can see the photo for yourself below.

If this is in fact a still from the supposed upcoming trailer, most Marvel fans should be pretty pleased, as they nailed the look of this iconic character. Morbius made his Marvel Comics debut in 1971 when he appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #101. The character was created by the legendary Roy Thomas and Gil Kane.
In early 2019, Jared Leto released a photo when production began, but there wasn’t much to glean from it. The film will be directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life, Safe House), and joining Leto in the cast is Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona (True Detective), Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious series) as Simon Stroudm, and Jared Harris (The Terror) in an unnamed role.
Morbius hits theaters on July 31, 2020.
