James Bond: No Time To Die Trailer Shows An Old Bond Learning New Tricks

Following this week’s teaser and character posters, the first full trailer for No Time To Die has arrived, giving us a look at Bond’s return after a lengthy absence. The latest James Bond movie hits theaters in April 2020, and sees Daniel Craig reprise his role as the iconic British superspy for the fifth time.

The trailer starts with Bond seemingly retired and a new 00 agent named Nomi having taken his place. But of course, Bond is lured back for another mission and reteamed with a variety of old familiar faces such as M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny–plus Madeleine Swan, from 2015’s Spectre. There’s all the spectacular globe-trotting action you’d expect, an appearance from an incarcerated Blofeld, and, finally, a look at the villainous Safin, played by Bohemian Rhapsody Oscar-winner Rami Malek. Check the trailer out below:

No Time To Die is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who is best known for the first season of True Detective and the acclaimed drama Beasts of No Nation. The movie also stars Ben Whishaw as Q, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swan, Lashana Lynch as Nomi, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, and Christoph Waltz as Blofeld. It hits theatres on April 8, 2020.

The movie was originally set to be helmed by Danny Boyle, who was announced as director in February 2018. However, he left the film in August that year last over “creative differences,” leading to the movie being pushed back from its original November 2019 release slot. This will be Craig’s fifth outing as Bond. In a recent interview, Craig stated that this would be final Bond movie–although of course, that’s what he said after Spectre’s release in 2015 too.
